How it Began

Earlier in the week, I had come across a picture on Facebook of a girl (Janessa) holding a poster looking for her birthmother. Im my head I thought "wow, what a great idea, I should do that". However, i was too scared that I would get all of my hopes up for nothing. After all, who knew if my birthmom would even have a Facebook. So I kind of put the thought out of my head. The next day however, my friend Shawn tagged me in that same picture and I was surprised to see the picture again and I started to think that maybe I should do it, but I couldn't get up the courage. That night, Derrick and I went to a restaurant where our friend Shawn was a host. Her and Derrick kept telling me how I should put up a picture like the one on Facebook and I started to consider it. I went home that night half convinced I wanted to do it.
